NEWSPAPER// Day 7: Re-Formatting

In the second half of day seven we reformatted the text based pages of the newspaper. With 10 inner sections we took it in turns to format one page each on rotation. This kept us from getting overly stressed about the fine details by giving us regular breaks. The rotation also meant that the work one of us did could be reviewed immediately and fixed if any minor mistakes were made by the second. This sort of collaboration meant that the work was completed in half the time with half of the workload each, one of the most beneficial parts of working like this.

Just to sum up on what we changed I will post two images and explain the changes we made on all pages through them.
Firstly we set a line for which all content has to flow too. This means that the content on every page will be squared off and a strong grid should also allow the content to be both clear to read and easy to find.
We also added new furniture to the top of every page, which will state the page numbers and dates. This can also frame the following content in a smart and realistic.
Lastly we altered the 'hot pink' colour to 15C 100M to add a more purple tinge.
Our images are still mostly placeholders and we realise that the titles and pullout quotes still need a far amount of work, the plan moving forward is to work on these tomorrow and get the design ready to print by the end of the day. As usual this will be another full on day.
