One of the hardest parts of this brief will be to structure each page in such a way that there is not too much information, but enough to explain everything. With the internet I have an unlimited supply of knowledge that I could place down on each page, but as a designer it is my job to communicate this in a more effective way. The sort of books that are published like this are great for die hard fansm however today if you want this much detail you can visit wikipedia. What books have to offer today, in my opinion is an alternative or slimmed down explanation of topics, where the research and interesting parts have been extracted for you. This is what I aim to do with my publication, and has not really been done here. However saying that the Submarines book has a more ridged page layout and a quick run-down of the specs of each sub on every page. This means that people can glance at the page for information or read the whole entry for more. Still, the layout is kinda messy, with titles for each sub in a different place on each page, making the book hard to skim through or navigate.
